Ludhiana, August: After receiving the complaints of sale of counterfeit DEF (Urea), the officials of Ludhiana based Dada Motors company along with the help of Sirhind police seized the duplicate products from different auto spare parts shops.
The Sirhind police have registered an FIR against three shop owners, identified as Parveen Kumar of Railway Road, Himayupur Sirhind, Avtar Singh of Alipur Sodhia of Sirhind and Kuldeep Singh of Himayupur Sirhind.
The FIR has been registered on the basis of the complaint lodged by Anil Kumar, Divisional Manager of Dada Motors, Ludhiana.
He stated that DEF (Urea) is the product of his company which is used to decrease the pollution levels in commercial trucks and after finding less sales of the product in Sirhind, there were complaints of sale of duplicate DEF (Urea) following which an inspection was conducted and after finding counterfeit products, a complaint was made to Sirhind police and the duplicate products were seized.
A case under sections 318 of BNS and 63 and 65 of Copyright Act has been registered against the accused at Sirhind police station.
